Our Inspiration
Karmveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagadale was a social reformer, educationist and founder of Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Barshi Dist. Solapur. He took inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Gandhi, Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil and others. Karmaveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagadale was born on 4th February 1903 at Bhikar Sarola (Dist. Osmanabad). He completed his education up-to matriculation and wanted to pursue higher education, but due to lack of financial and educational facilities he could not complete it. The unaccomplished dream of higher education led him to start an educational institution which is known as "Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Barshi". For his outstanding work, Marathwada University, Aurangabad and Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri awarded him D. Lit. and D. Sc. respectively. Karmaveer Mamasaheb realised the urgent need of Medical Services for the poor people. The main aim was to provide utmost care and high-quality medical services at reasonable rates to the poor people. Karmaveer Mamasaheb started "Arogya Mandir" Hospital on 4 th February with 10 beds and a small surgical unit. The hospital developed rapidly because of his dedication and the different wings started adding their medical contribution with high standard medical services to the poor. The Management has recently started the Trauma Centre with state-of-the-art facilities, which has added another feather in the cap. He passed away on 30 th May 1981, leaving behind the legacy of social work. He is now our inspiration and we have been trying to fulfil his dream.
