About IQAC
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Shri Shivaji Mahavidyalaya,
Barshi, is
a key unit dedicated
to ensuring and enhancing the quality of institutional practices. It is established in 2005 as per NAAC
guidelines, and it strives to promote a culture of continuous improvement in academic and administrative
performance while aligning the institution with the dynamic needs of society and industry.
Objectives of IQAC:
- To develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in institutional
performance.
- To ensure quality benchmarks in teaching, learning, and evaluation processes.
- To enhance stakeholder satisfaction through efficient academic, administrative, and support
services.
- To encourage a research-driven culture and establish collaborations with external organizations.
- To ensure timely and effective implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Functions, Roles & Responsibilities of the IQAC:
- Developing and applying quality benchmarks for academic and administrative activities.
- Facilitating a learner-centric environment through innovative teaching and learning practices.
- Organizing workshops, seminars, and training programs on quality-related themes.
- Collecting and analysing feedback from students, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders for quality
enhancement.
- Conducting regular internal and external audits to monitor and evaluate institutional performance.
- Documenting institutional activities and maintaining comprehensive records for transparency and
accountability.
- Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC.
- Promoting research culture, collaboration, and the adoption of best practices in all departments.
- Acting as a nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities across the institution.
- Motivating departments to adopt innovative practices in teaching, research, and administration.
- Ensuring the alignment of institutional goals with national and global benchmarks of excellence.
- Facilitating stakeholder participation in decision-making processes for quality enhancement.
- Ensuring the effective implementation of quality improvement initiatives and strategies.
- Liaising with external accrediting bodies like NAAC for assessments and evaluations.
- Promoting ethical practices, inclusivity, and sustainability in all institutional endeavours.
- Identifying, sharing, and implementing best practices to optimize institutional performance.
