Promotion of Research
The college promotes research culture among students and the faculty. Research publications in
international and national journals, publications and presentations by the faculty and students at
various conferences, organizing international, national and state level seminars, conferences,
workshops, research projects funded by different funding agencies are the indicators of the promotion of
research in our college. The college has two research centers and seven research places recognized by
Solapur University, Solapur, where students can register for M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. The Star college
scheme of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, helps students to undertake research
projects at UG and PG level. Students also participate in Avishkar Research Festival at University and
state level. Participation of PG students in research projects as a part of University syllabi helps
them to introduce them to fascinating world of research. A meaningful research experience offers
students the opportunity to learn research skills, gain confidence, become more ambitious and prepare
for future careers. One of the useful products of research initiatives by the college helps students to
know current research opportunities and information about why research experience is useful, how to
begin research, how to find out researchable problem, to form hypothesis, to design experiment, how to
write a research paper and the process of paper publication.
Following initiatives have taken by the College to promote research:
- We help students to get seed money, space, glassware, chemicals and basic equipment available for research to start.
- Research project as a part of curriculum for M.Sc. Microbiology course.
- Interaction of students with outside scientists in the field encourages students to undertake research.
- MOU with industry, colleges and institutes promote research and is like a symbiotic relationship.
- Resourcefulness for research needs and sharing of the facilities available at various departments in the college.
- We help researchers to apply for grants to various funding agencies.
- We promote researchers to publish papers and attend conferences.
