The last couple of decades have witnessed a sudden expansion of knowledge. In the process of development of science and technology, the changing nature of subject of Geography will make aware to the student about the advanced techniques such as Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS. The Department of Geography established in 1960, has completed 64 year offering courses leading to B.A. in Geography. P.G. course i.e. M.A./M.Sc. in Geography was introduced in 2007 and Research center in 2011. Department of Geography is a leading and one of the important Departments in the college. It is renowned at University level for its quality education. Most of the University merit holders belong to the Department. It is a recognized Research center for Ph.D. in different branches of Geography. The Department technical facilities include, Computers, GPS, and GIS laboratory. The Department has very rich, experienced and dedicated faculty.The Department has “Bhugol Shastra Abhyas Mandal” of students, which arrange various activities such as a Geography Day, lectures of renown persons, to develop inherent qualities in them. The seven students qualified NET and SET under the guidance of the faculty. Our faculty has delivered number of lectures in seminars, conferences and Research courses as a resource person.
