Department Of Marathi

The department of Marathi on its very year of inception that is from 1960 has proved its work. It is one of the active and result oriented departments of our college. For over last 64 years, it has proved to be a source of career building to the students not only of the Arts faculty but even for the students from Science faculty also. In 1972 department commence post graduate course. Department started research center successfully in 2011. Dr. Gangadhar Morje a well-known critic and literary activist headed the department during 1960 to 1964. He brought name and fame to the college by his various literary activities in and outside the college. In the department he organized many lectures series, seminars and symposiums and personalities of esteemed recognition visited the college at every second month during his tenure of about 5 years. Learned persons and authors like Dr. Sunilkumar Lawate, Bhaskar Chandanshiv, Indrajit Bhalerao, Yogiraj Mane, Dr. Kishor Kale, Dr. Prahlad Lulekar, Arun Khore, Dr. D.T. Bhosale, Dr. Vishwanath Shinde, Dr. Ravindra Thakur, Achyut Mane, Dr. Suryanarayan Ransubhe, Dr. Suresh Shinde, Narayan Sumant, Hemkiran Patki, Dr. A.H. Salunkhe, Mukundraj Kulkarni, Dr. Krishna Mastud, Dr. Mahendra Kadam, Dr. Krishna Ingole, Prin.Dr. Vitthal Wagh, Sindhutai Sapkal etc. And many more such person from the fields of literature, Journalism, Education and Culture visited to the Marathi Department. Prof. Dr. Bharati Revadkar is the person who use UGC grant for the first time and conducted two days state level seminar on “Dalit Aatmakathananchi Samajik va Sanskrutik Chikitsa” in Dcember 2000. From that time only it became a practice of the Marathi department to conduct seminar on grand scale successfully. Dr. Shailajatai Shitole former head was active with Social & Political aspects. She becomes Member Of Lower Assembly (MLA). Dr. kuntatai Jagdale is also one of the eminent person related to the department. She works on various Social Issues. She specialized in Marathi Bharood. Her great achievement is she collection of various forms of Bharood. Now days Prof. Dr. Bira Parase is working as the Head Of The Department. Under his guidance Marathi Department lifted to the tippets level. He is one of the well-known Professor among the Solapur University. She is well-known person in Dalit Literature. He criticize different issues related to Dalit problems. He find out different problems related to Dalit aspects & raise finger about it. He always think about progress of the department. Mr. Jitendra Nanaware, Dr. Ravikant Shinde, Smt. Vijayshri Gawali are also publish their research articles in different journals.
