The Department of Statistics was established in 1979 and B.Sc.III was started in 1982. Since its formation, it has always striven to achieve academic excellence and nurture statistical interests. The department offers course in Statistics for under-graduate students of the college. The department has a dedicated and qualified staff member who actively participates in teaching courses and cutting-edge research. The department provides a vibrant atmosphere to the students to foster academic development. In addition, various guest lectures, seminars, workshops and activities are organized throughout the year to encourage the spirit of learning and development. Lecture Series “Excellence in Statistics”: The Statistics department organizes specificized lecture series “Excellence in Statistics” for third year students to enhance knowledge and skills in preparation for M.Sc. (Statistics) entrance examination. This initiative is designed to provide solution for brain storming problems and give insights to excel in the examination. This lecture series is run by our departmental experienced and knowledgeable faculty members who are well-versed in the subject of Statistics.
